Growing up in the small town of Fayette, Mississippi, Dreka saw firsthand the lack of opportunities and access to creative education for aspiring filmmakers. Despite these challenges, her determination and passion for storytelling led her to a remarkable career that spans both television and film. Before launching Prime Stone Media Institute, Dreka served as Head of Creative Services Production at NBC’s Memphis affiliate, where she led teams in developing commercial content, creative campaigns, and promotional storytelling that reached thousands of viewers. Her work in television opened doors to collaborations with major networks such as VH1 and BET, and she has played key roles in helping filmmakers bring their projects from concept to completion. Through years of experience, Dreka mastered nearly every role on a production set—from writing and directing to editing and producing—earning her reputation as a true hands-on creative. Her leadership is grounded in the belief that real learning happens through doing. At Prime Stone Media Institute, she channels that philosophy into programs that immerse students directly into the world of professional filmmaking.
